18A - Customer Avatar

When I think of what my customer looks like a lot comes to mind. One major key is that my customer is an adult, most likely a high-school volleyball coach. Since my product is creating a self-operating volleyball net, I’m sure my customers would be efficient-wanting people, ones that dress nice and have good hygiene. They're hobbies may include volleyball, running, eating healthy, blogging. They either drive a hybrid car (probably green) or a nice black sports vehicle. They most likely watch sports channels or tv sows like Seinfeld. They read lots of self-help books or books about increasing happiness. They are most likely liberal so they support Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders. They would probably be in their forties but feel like they're in their early thirties.

One thing I have in common with my customer is that we both enjoy healthy mind and body lifestyles and we both are interested in volleyball. My product was created because I always had trouble setting up volleyball nets for practice and taking them down after.

14A – Halfway Reflection

  1. To be completely honest, I got really behind with keeping up with these assignments. I ended up missing three weeks of work because I was caught up studying for Calc and Micro. I didn't realize how much effort was needed to complete these assignments. Although I have fallen behind, I am trying to complete the rest of the assignments to hopefully still receive a good grade in the class. I would say getting the assignments done in the beginning of the week would help rather than waiting until Friday night when they are due.
  2. I need a good grade in this class so although I did sort of in a way give up, I am not giving up anymore points.
  3. 1. Get things done in the beginning of the week.
2. Work with others, if you need help just ask a T.A. or become friends with someone in the class.

3. Take the course seriously, spend 2-3 hours a week keeping up with the assignments.

13A - Reading Reflection No. 1
Coco Chanel, Lisa Chaney
1. You read about an entrepreneur:
  • What surprised me the most about her was that she was also convicted of being a German Spy in World War II.
  • What I admired the most about her was that she learned to iron, sew, and embroider in convent orphanage she lived in after her mother died.
  • Chanel No. 5 comes from a fortune teller.
  • She encountered failure during the war where she had to shut down her fashion business for 15 years. After the War ended she reopened her fashion business and it continued to bloom.
2. I noticed that Coco Chanel actually had a passion in her work. She also dared to change women’s appearances so that they could be more comfortable and care less about what others thought.
3. Her last words were “You see, this is how you die.”
4. I would ask them how it felt to start changing the idea of a woman and what they are expected to wear felt. I would also ask her how she decided to reopen her fashion business after it being closed for 15 years.

5. I think that Coco Chanel thought it was hard to be a woman starting a new business, especially a clothing business which is very rare. I’m sure she also thought it was hard to do all of this during World War II.
